Welcome to the Rotary Club of Newlands in Cape Town, South Africa.
Newlands is an enthusiastic and energetic club situated in the heart of Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs.
The world-famous Newlands Rugby Stadium and Newlands Cricket Ground are our neighbours and we share our emblem, the Disa, and colours (blue and white) with Western Province Rugby. The Disa is also the emblem of the Western Cape, the province in which the City of Cape Town is situated.
We were chartered on November 21, 1993 and are one of 60 Clubs in Rotary International District 9350. We meet at Western Province Cricket Club on Mondays at 18.15. On the first Monday of each month we are joined by our partners and the meeting starts at 19:00. Dress is ‘as you are’ with an emphasis on casual.
Newlands Rotary is active in all five Rotary Avenues of Service but places particular emphasis on Youth Services, with education and development leading the way.
We also find time to enjoy good fellowship so, when you visit us, be prepared to stay just a little bit longer. (Fast forward to 5'52" if you don't get this reference ....)  wink
