Newlands Rotary's Youth Chair, Vanessa Rousseu, hosted an Interact Workshop this past weekend at the Nassau Centre, Groote Schuur High School. The workshop was organised by RC Newlands and involved 25 schools with approximately 130 students attending.
The Interact Clubs represented are sponsored by 6 Rotary Clubs in our district: Newlands, Wynberg, Claremont, Groote Schuur, Kirstenbosch and Paarl. The Rotaract Club of Wynberg assisted with the running of the programme, which included a guest speaker - Bryony Bosman, Head Girl of Milnerton High. Rotaracter Sean Oberholzer led ice-breaker activities to encourage conversations between the participants and there were a number of breakaway groups to discuss Interact roles and projects.
Packing for a joint project, initiated by Rumaanah Seedat, a member of the Interact Club of Groote Schuur High School, resulted in 49 care packs being packed for rape survivours. There was also a breakaway session for teachers and Rotarians, led by Nora See.
Wynberg Rotaracter, Sean Oberholzer organised this ice breaker, encouraging the Interacters to share ideas and opinions.
Bryony Bosman, Head Girl of Milnerton High, addresses the Interacters.  She focused on the importance of servant leadership and taking action to serve the needs of the various communities.
The Interacters had a lot of fun working together to complete  49 care packs, which will soon be distributed to hospitals around the Cape metropole.
